How to Choose Correct Blackberry Curve 8520/8530 LCD Screen Version

There are some cases when you'll need to replace your Curve LCD screens. For example, if your LCD screen is cracked, if it has water damage, if it displays the wrong color, if it has vertical or horizontal lines, if it has dark spots or a white screen, or if the screen it totally blank.

The LCD screen is located below the screen lens. If only the screen lens is damaged or scratched, and if the display doesn't have any issues, then you'll only need to replace the screen lens.

The Blackberry Curve 8520 Replacement LCD Screen and 9300/9330 LCD screen are the same. There are several versions of the LCD screen and you'll need to find the correct version for your phone. DealsiShop carries six different version of LCD screens for Blackberry Curve 8520/9300. Depending on when and where your phone was manufactured, it might use different version of LCD. The version of the LCD is related to the mainboard of your phone. In order to replace your old LCD, the new one has to be the same exact version as your old screen, otherwise, it won't be compatible with your phone's mainboard and you might end up with a blank screen or an all-white screen.

In order to find the LCD version for your existing phone, you'll need to disassemble the phone first, then take out the LCD to find the version number you need. We have a separate instruction for how to disassemble the phone. Here we'll just show how to tell the version after the LCD has been removed from the phone.

After we take the LCD out, you'll see most of them are contained in a metal frame. For some versions, you'll need to remove that frame in order to see the version number. The frame may be difficult to remove; the LCD was held in the frame with glue.
